TIMSR’s Women Development Cell organized an event on the topic "Gender Inequality- Movie Case Discussion- Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl" on 4th December 2021 for the students of MMS Semester-I (Batch 2020-22) via a virtual platform, Zoom. The movie was played with an objective to sensitize the students on 'Gender Inequality’ and provide them with an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to understanding the social and cultural constructions of gender.
During the event, the students also provided their inputs on how one could view the problem as an opportunity and shared the various instances, in the movie, where Gunjan Saxena overcame the challenges and made her dream come true. Also, students were asked to anticipate the diversity (like gender, age, culture, etc.) and challenges faced by the female employees in the organization, today.
Overall, the student enjoyed this unique approach to addressing a social issue.
