Srujan – An E-cell Initiative

Under Srujan, various entrepreneurship activities are organized. With an objective to encourage entrepreneurship skills amongst students, an initiative known as Business Plan has been introduced as part of the curriculum. This initiative harnesses certain key entrepreneurship skills such as innovation, customer orientation, technical skills and soft skills including leadership and communication skills. 120 students participated in this excercise which generated 20 business ideas.

Students prepared Business Plan reports based on a study of industry conditions, market potential and customer segmentation. The financial and technical feasibility aspects were also looked into. Out of the 20 business ideas that were generated, 3 best ideas were shortlisted and the students were given an opportunity to pursue them as summer projects. The institute provided them with logistical support including mentoring during the implementation.

A student enterprise with the name Choco Desire formed by Ms. Shweta Tiwari (PGDM) is currently a successful business venture and has generated revenues with profit margin.

TIMSR E-Week'SPARK' was initiated in collaboration with NEN and was held from 6th to 11th February 2010. It bought out the entrepreneural instincts of all the students, faculty and staff of TIMSR, TIMSCDR, TCET & TPOLY. This was organized through various activities such as Know Your Entrepreneur, Sabse sasta din, Innovation center..etc... SPARK
