The certification programme on Financial Modeling for PGDM/MMS Finance students was held for a period of 5 days on March 26, 27, 28, 31 and April 1, 2018. The training was in collaboration by Edupristine with BSE Institute Ltd and was conducted by Mr. Tarun Bothra, Corporate Trainer at Edupristine. In this program, students learnt to independently build models that will help them analyze a company from multiple standpoints like operations, investment, financing and valuation.
Objectives of the Event : 1. To design and construct useful and robust financial modeling applications
2. To learn financial forecasting
3. To use several of the support tools and techniques in spreadsheet programs
4. To utilize sensitivity and scenario analysis
Learning Outcomes : 1. Students learnt to build a financial model from scratch as done at financial institutions.
2. Students learnt to work on Excel and use formatting best practices, efficient formula construction, and appropriate driver selections.
3. Students also learnt to calculate the Free Cash Flow to Firm (FCFF) & Free Cash Flow to Equity (FCFE).
4. Students were able to perform Trading Multiples analysis – EV/EBITDA, EV/EBIT, EV/Sales.
5. Students were able to understand and explain the techniques, elements and approaches of forecasting.
