The Investment Awareness Training programme for MMS students was held on 9th January, 2019. The event was conducted by Mrs. Niyati Patel, Head faculty, The Learning Curve Academy, in association with L&T Mutual Funds. The session started with insight on the power of starting investments early in one’s life. Better Investments not only help to have a good lifestyle today but also provide better affordability in future. Money tends to lose value in the long run because of inflation. To keep pace with the ever-rising inflation, investment in the right baskets becomes crucial.
The instructor further explained about different avenues available for investments. It includes bank deposits and bonds with low to medium risk and returns profile; it serves to people who are conservative in their investment approach.
In the post lunch session, the students were guided on how to read and interpret information presented in the “Fact Sheets”. It was followed by informative quiz which helped students summarize the previous session well. The most exciting part was “Investment-Simulation Game”. In this, the students were given virtual money, which they had to invest in various available alternatives discussed throughout the day.
The program enabled students to better understand the different investment opportunities, the benefits of investing early on in career and highlighting the importance of having a diversified portfolio. The session was concluded by a word of appreciation for the batch and announcement of the game winners.
