National seminar on “Competitive Strategies in Emerging Marketing Environment” was held on March 02, 2013. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Satish Ratnaparakhi, Director, Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies, University of Mumbai. He said that evolution in marketing environment is a continuous phenomenon and any idea can be converted into a marketable idea. He expressed that there will always be job market for relevant skills.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Samir Gupte, President, Ogilvy Action, discussed about the importance of marketing communication for rural areas. He emphasized the importance of providing a reference point to the audience so that they can relate to the advertising idea or concept.

A panel discussion was also conducted which was moderated by Dr. Cajetan D’souza, Consultant at Frantech Services & Supermac Industries (India) Ltd. The panelist,Mr. Pankaj Prakash, Consultant, Marketing & Brand Communication, La Plant Beverages Pvt. Ltd., narrated the innovations in his erstwhile taxi business and the current activity of marketing of green tea. Another panelist, Mr. Vishwajeet Sukhija, Director, Innovations & Marketing, Mobilox, described the creative use of mobiles in mobilizing public support for various projects.

There were also paper presentations by various participants followed by valedictory function and prize distribution by the Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh Srivastava, Managing Director, Gitanjali Jewellery Retail Ltd.
