International Labor Day

    On April 30, 2021, TIMSR Social Responsibility Cell ‘Samvedna’ organized an event on “International Labor Day’ for spreading awareness on the Importance of Labor and Labor laws in India for MMS, Semester I Students (Batch 2020-2022).

    The event successfully achieved its purposes of:

    1. Creating an understanding about the “Value of Labor”
    2. Sharing the origin of Labor day
    3. Spreading the word about importance of Labor Laws
    4. Creating an awareness about the misfortune that may happen if laws are not followed

    Through the innovative ways of presentation by doing:

    1. Role play as a medium was used by SRC ‘’Samvedna’’ Cell members to discuss issues of labor and how it can be addressed by ethical and mindful leadership
    2. Precise power point presentation on the history of International Labor’s Day and Labor laws
    3. Fact based effective usage of case study to convey the sensitivity of labor issues among young budding managers
    Overall the session was highly informative and interesting and has given a boost of knowledge and clarity on the Importance of Labor and Labor Laws in India. The students participated enthusiastically in the session.

      Remembering Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and awareness on Indian Constitution

        On April 15, 2021, TIMSR’s Social Responsibility Cell ‘Samvedna’ organized an event on “Remembering Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and awareness on Indian Constitution” for MMS, Sem-I Students (Batch 2020-2022) on the occasion of 130th birth anniversary of “Bharat Ratna Late Dr. B. R. Ambedkar”.

        Objectives:

        1. To remember Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his 130th Birth Anniversary
        2. To Understand the Contribution of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar towards Constitution and RBI
        3. To create an awareness about basic fundamentals and principles of Indian Constitution

        The following topics were discussed in the session:

        1. Who Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was?
        2. Early life and education of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
        3. Contributions by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar (Awards, Recognition and Contribution to RBI)
        4. Constitution of India (what is Constitution, Preamble and Highlights of Constitution)
        Overall the session was highly informative and interesting and has given a boost of knowledge and clarity on contribution of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Constitution of India. The students participated enthusiastically in the session.

        Daily Mindfulness Sessions

        TIMSR SRC Cell SAMVEDNA initiated Daily Mindfulness Sessions (DMS) for Thakur School of Architecture and Planning (TSAP) faculty members from December 07-31, 2020. DMS is a three-step activity beginning with the Opening Prayer, Neck and Breathing Exercises, and finally Gratitude Prayer. Sessions commenced with the introduction of DMS by one of the TIMSR Student and sharing on the benefits of the DMS, particularly in Covid-19 situation. Thereafter, the students carried out the DMS activity and guided the TSAP faculty members on how to systematically perform the activity.

        International Day of Peace

        Social Responsibility Cell of TIMSR organized an online session on the occasion of ‘International Day of Peace’ on Monday, September 21, 2020 for MMS, FMHO, Sem III students via Zoom to create awareness on the significance of peacefulness for Budding Managers and Entrepreneurs. The session showcased that in the present scenario, the whole world is going through a traumatic phase. Hence the fundamental need of today for all humanity is to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to a culture of peace.

        Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

        Social Responsibility Cell of TIMSR organized an online presentation on October 01, 2020 on the world class leadership qualities of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Students of the SRC Cell, Ms. Sejal Singh and Mr. Rohan Karwa (Batch 2019-21) shared Mahatma Gandhi’s world class leadership qualities i.e. Non-violence, Unity, Sacrifice, Negotiation, etc. All MMS students of Semester III, Batch 2019-21 attended the session. The session reflected on the learnings of Mahatma Gandhi.

        Teachers Day Celebration

        Social Responsibility Cell of TIMSR organized Teachers Day Celebration on Saturday, September 05, 2020 in respect of former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday on Zoom platform to recognize the efforts of teachers on the theme of ‘Teacher-ignites, inspires, insightful, intelligent and emotionally independent-gratitude to Nature, people and life situations to develop inner mastery outer impact’. Dr. Pankaj Natu, Director TIMSR, faculty members and students wholeheartedly participated in this celebration.

          Ganesh Utsav Celebration

          Social Responsibility Cell of TIMSR organized 'Ganesh Utsav Celebration' event via Zoom for MMS FMHO Sem III students on Friday, 28th August, 2020. Dr. Pooja Thorat, Associate Professor started the celebration by showcasing last year’s Ganesh Utsav celebrations. Ms. Asha Chaganti, student of Batch 2019-21 performed a classical dance on Ganesh Vandana. Students described the leadership lessons through Lord Ganesha’s features with outstanding corporate examples to make students aware of the necessity of these skills. A series of activities like identifying various names of Ganesha through cluster of Emoji and crossword puzzle for leadership lessons was conducted. The event concluded with a mesmerizing singing performance by Mr. Akash Singh, student of Batch 2019-21. The response from all participants for the activities conducted was outstanding.

          Independence Week Celebration 2020

          Social Responsibility Cell of TIMSR organized ‘Independence Week Celebration’ on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 10.00 am to 11.30 a.m. for MMS Semester III (FMHO) students. An interactive panel discussion was organized on the above theme, where few subthemes have been covered by the student’s panel. These subthemes were related to Physical, Mental, Emotional, Technological, Financial and Societal independence. The discussion enabled the students to understand the real meaning of Independence who are the budding managers and assured to use their abilities and potential for better performance.

        World Senior Citizens Day

        TIMSR Social Responsibility Cell(SRC) organized a Selfi / picture drive on the occasion of ‘World Senior Citizens Day’ on August 21, 2020.

        World Senior Citizens Day was celebrated in TIMSR on August 21, 2020. This day is celebrated to develop sensitivity and compassion towards Senior Citizens in the family and society. This day provides an opportunity to show appreciation towards elderly for their contribution in development of society and nation by providing an enduring and honest service. It also shows solidarity and support towards elderly to happily continue living in old age. To make this day special, TIMSR’s MMS Students of Batch 2019-21, shared their selfie/pictures with elderly members of the family.

        Jalshakti Abhiyan

        TIMSR Social Responsibility Cell organized an Essay Competition on “Jalshakti Abhiyan” on 30th July, 2020.

        On this day, an awareness session was conducted by MMS Students SRC team for all the MMS Students of batch 2019-21, to promote “Jalshakti Abhiyan” launched by Government of India. The session helped the students to understand the challenges faced due to water crises and spread awareness on water conservation methods. The session explained the importance of saving water, ways to save water, awareness of water crisis and challenges of water availability. The presentation displayed water conservation measures at individual and societal level. The session helped develop attitude of reducing wastage of water which is a valuable resource. At the end of the session, all the students were asked to submit an essay sharing their views on water conservation and challenges faced.

        Plastic Free Abhiyaan

        TIMSR Social Responsibility Cell organized an Essay Competition on “Plastic Free Abhiyaan”, on 24th July, 2020.

        On this day, an awareness session was conducted by MMS Students SRC team for all the MMS Students of batch 2019-21. The motto set for the presentation was “Say no to Plastic”. The session explained the impact of plastic on environment and ways to reduce use of plastic material. The session started with creating awareness about the hazards emitted by discarded plastics on environment and on all the living beings. In the session, SRC Leaders highlighted the available alternatives for Plastics, i.e. Cloth bags, paper bags, steel items, etc. They also conveyed the importance of collection and proper handling of plastic waste and recycling process.

International Yoga Day

    On 21st June, 2021 TIMSR organized a virtual event on the day of seventh edition of “International Yoga Day”. As, at TIMSR we follow green practices; hence we took this opportunity to promote Yoga among our mindful budding managers.

    The event started with a Daily Mindfulness Session (DMS). DMS is an umbrella of few Yogic exercises which includes head exercises, breathing exercises and meditation in Namaste mudra. Dr. Shuchi Gautam – Professor, elaborated audience on benefits of Yoga through presentation. Prof. Shraddha Luniya - Asst. Professor, conducted different clapping exercises.

    After the clapping activity, Director, Dr. Pankaj Natu, presented a presentation on how TIMSR tried to provide its faculty members and students with TIMSR green practices like DMS and HTTC which are derived from Yoga. The event was successfully conducted virtually with the support of all TIMSR staff, HOI and students and was attended by teaching and non-teaching staff of TIMSR and MMS students (batch 2020-22). The session concluded with HTTC Ideology i.e., “Hourly Thought Traffic Control”.
