The session of Interim Budget 2019-20 was held for all PGDM and MMS students as on 1st February 2019. Prior to Interim budget session, students were briefed about the basics of making of Union budget in pre-budget session by CA. Jai Kotecha. It included information on how budget is prepared, budget presentation, general discussion, debate and ‘halwa ceremony.’
Later, Interim budget session was telecasted for students. Finance minister Piyush Goyal presented the Union Budget in Lok Sabha. The objective of the session was to familiarize students with budget speech and to make them understand key highlights of budget. The students get awareness about impact of budget announcements on various economic sectors and their growth prospects. In the interim budget 2019, the financial package for farmers, extension of interest subvention scheme to animal husbandry and fisheries, free LPG to households, income tax rebate, relief for middle class home owners and increase in defence budget were the key announcements made.
