Gender Stereotype- Movie Case Discussion- Mary Kom
TIMSR’s Women Development Cell organized an event on the topic “Gender Stereotype- Movie Case Discussion- Mary Kom” for the students of MMS Semester-I (Batch 2023-25) on 9th December 2023. The movie was broadcasted with an objective to sensitize the students on ‘Gender Stereotype’ and provided them with a distinguishing view of the preconception about attributes, or how struggle, passion, and dedication helps you achieve success.
During the event, the students also provided their inputs about how Mary Kom (the protagonist) learns to overcome the challenges through skill acquisition. Students emphasized the importance of Gender Neutrality in today’s world and highlighted the way in which the movie talked about it. Overall, the students had a good time learning about such serious concepts through a light-hearted approach and the session was well appreciated by all.
