Green Finance Sustainable Investment For Circular Economy

Mr. Abhay Kumar, the Chief Guest, enlightened the audience with various green finance practices, creating a sustainable society and green customs as an aspect of green finance. Dr. Vikram Kamat, the Guest of Honor shared his valuable insights on sustainable and profitable business, the cost of capital for practicing green finance and how to build a sustainable business.

The inauguration was followed by the first panel discussion which was joined by eminent panelists including Mr. Ahsan Jafri, Vice President Barclays Bank, Ms. Sandhya Upadhyay, Chief Financial Officer-Aditya Birla Sun Life and Mr. Avinash Belamkar Sr. Manager- Sustainability Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. The panel was moderated by TIMSR Alumni Mr. Mahendra Salunkhe, CS and Legal Head, MSL Driveline Systems Ltd. The panel highlighted the challenges pertaining to the implementation of green practices and investments that can lead to the sustainable development of the economy.

For the second panel discussion, the esteemed panelists were Ms. Priyanka Acharya, Founder, LaxmiGyaan, Mr. Nimit Arora, Finance Controller – Colt Data Centre Services and Mr. Vishwajit Yadav, Finance Controller – Fugro. The panel was moderated by TIMSR Alumni, Mr. Prasad Phadnis Sr. Manager Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. The panel discussion focused on the Green Finance evolving in India, the importance of ESG Ratings, the Government supporting the Circular Economy and the E-Waste Management process.

At the end of the conclave, a quiz competition on Green Finance and Sustainable Investment for Circular Economy was also organized for the students and the discussion was concluded by a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Charu Upadhyaya, HOD (Finance), TIMSR.
