Samvedna 2024-2025

TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell celebrated Constitution Day with great enthusiasm on November 26, 2024. The event commenced with a brief introduction to the historical significance of the day, emphasizing its role in upholding the values of democracy, justice, liberty, and equality enshrined in the Constitution. 

Students, faculty, and staff gathered in the classroom and auditorium for the pledge-taking ceremony, where the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was recited. The pledge highlighted the commitment to safeguarding the nation’s integrity, promoting fraternity, and ensuring justice for all citizens. Participants reflected on their role in upholding constitutional values in their personal and professional lives. 

The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem, fostering a sense of patriotism and unity among all participants. It served as a powerful reminder of our responsibilities as citizens and inspired everyone to contribute positively to the nation’s growth. 

Women Empowerment

TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell conducted a Role Play activity on “Women Empowerment” on 21st October 2024. The activity featured students enacting real-life scenarios highlighting the struggles, achievements, and rights of women in different sectors of society. The role play emphasized the importance of women’s education, economic independence, and equal opportunities. 

The activity effectively showcased the need for collective action to break societal stereotypes and barriers. Students engaged enthusiastically, portraying how women overcome challenges in their professional and personal lives. The activity concluded with an open discussion, where participants shared insights on supporting women’s empowerment initiatives. This impactful session left students motivated to contribute towards fostering gender equality in their communities. 

“MERA – Research”

TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell undertook a one-week internship on “MERA – Research” in collaboration with Kotak Education Foundation. Four students volunteered for the internship from 25th September to 1st October 2024. It provided students with a unique opportunity to apply their data extraction and organizational skills to support underprivileged schools. The students’ task involved gathering data from various websites and portals and compiling it systematically in an Excel format, focusing on schools in need of assistance.

Through this internship, students gained invaluable insights into the challenges faced by under-resourced educational institutions, enhancing their understanding of social responsibility. The experience not only strengthened their research skills but also instilled a sense of empathy and commitment to social change. In recognition of their efforts, all participating students were awarded certificates from Kotak Education Foundation, underscoring their contribution to a meaningful cause and boosting their professional portfolios. This initiative reflects the institute’s dedication to fostering student growth through socially responsible engagements.

Plantation Drive

SRC -Samvedna cell of Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research conducted a ‘Plantation Drive’ titled “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam/Plant 4 Mother” an initiative by The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and Honorable Prime Minister on 17th September 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Damu Nagar, Kandivali East.

The Plantation drive aimed at giving tribute to one’s mother by planting trees which symbolised helping environmental conservation and well-being of Mother Earth.

A total of Five volunteers (MMS semester III – Batch 2023-2025) participated in the event. All participants were highly enthusiastic during the activity and seemed ready to make a big difference with their little efforts.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell and Electoral Club organised a Campaign on “Har Ghar Tiranga” for MMS Semester III (Batch 2023-25) on 13^th August, 2024. It aimed at fostering a sense of patriotism and national pride among students. The event was organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations and saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty.

The primary objective of the campaign was to promote unity and national identity by encouraging the widespread display of the national flag across homes. Students actively took part in a pledge ceremony, affirming their commitment to upholding the values of freedom and unity that the flag represents. Following the pledge, a rally was organized, with students proudly carrying the Tricolor in their hands, symbolizing their dedication to the nation. The initiative allowed students to connect with the larger national movement, contributing to a shared sense of pride and patriotism.

The event successfully instilled a deep sense of national pride among participants, uniting them in their love for the country and reinforcing the importance of collective identity in building a stronger and more cohesive nation.

Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was organized by TIMSR –‘Samvedna’ SRC cell in collaboration with Indian Medical Association Mumbai West Branch.  A total of 49 students (MMS Sem III – 2023-2025) and 21 staff members registered for the campaign and promoted the initiative to create awareness about blood donation and its importance on August 14, 2024. As a token of appreciation & gratitude, donors were awarded with certificates, donors’ cards, document folder, along with refreshments. A large number of students and staff participated in the camp, making it a success. All the participants were highly enthusiastic during the activity and seemed eager to make a big difference with their efforts.”

TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell organized an Intercollegiate Reel making Competition on the theme Social Responsibility in the era of Viksit Bharat on 13th August 2024 drawing participation from students across various colleges. The event aimed to inspire young minds to creatively address critical social issues through impactful and engaging reels.

During the competition, participants explored various aspects of social responsibility, reflecting on India’s progress and the role of youth in shaping a developed nation. The reels highlighted issues such as sustainable development, inclusive growth, and civic engagement, resonating with the theme of Viksit Bharat.

Later, the reels were evaluated based on creativity, thematic relevance, and social impact. Additionally, the event offered valuable networking opportunities, allowing students to connect with peers from other institutions, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas on “How to contribute to India’s development”.

Mithi River Clean-up Drive

On the 10th August, 2024, “Beach Please” organized a commendable clean-up drive along the Mithi River, Mahim. For this noble initiative, nine of our dedicated students from MMS Semester III (Batch 2023-25) actively participated in the drive. The primary goal was to address the alarming pollution levels and restore the river’s natural beauty. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and unwavering determination, our students worked tirelessly to remove plastic waste, debris, and other pollutants from the riverbanks.

Their efforts not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also raised awareness about the importance of preserving our natural water bodies. The clean-up drive served as an excellent opportunity for our students to engage in a meaningful social cause, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship. The collective endeavor fostered a sense of teamwork and civic responsibility among the students. Our students’ involvement in the Mithi River clean-up is a testament to their dedication to making a positive impact on the community and the environment.
