Gender Stereotype -Movie based Case Discussion for Movie- Mulan
TIMSR’s Women Development Cell organized an event on the topic “Gender Stereotype- Movie Case Discussion- Mulan” on 18th February 2025 for the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024-26).
The movie was played with the objective of sensitizing students to Gender Stereotypes and providing them with a deeper understanding of preconceived notions about attributes and roles assigned based on gender. It also highlighted how struggle, passion, and dedication help individuals achieve success, irrespective of societal norms.
During the event, students shared their insights on how Mulan, the protagonist, overcomes challenges through skill acquisition, resilience, and self-belief. They emphasized the importance of gender neutrality in today’s world and discussed how the movie effectively conveys this message. The discussion also shed light on the prevailing gender stereotypes in society and how they can be dismantled by adopting an open-minded, logical, and compassionate approach.
Overall, the session was engaging and insightful.
