Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)
The Women Development Cell of TIMSR organized an awareness session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) on April 7, 2025. The session was attended by MMS students of Batch (2023–25) and (2024–26) as well as the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Institute.
The session was led by Ms. Aileen Savina Marques, Advocate and POSH Consultant, who shared valuable insights into the key provisions of the POSH Act. The objective of the session was to educate participants on identifying and addressing inappropriate behavior in the workplace and academic environment. Ms. Marques explained how to distinguish between welcome and unwelcome conduct, emphasized the importance of prevention and prohibition, and elaborated on the legal redress mechanisms available under the Act.
The speaker also provided an overview of the Vishakha Guidelines, illustrating their relevance through recent real-life incidents and encouraging participants to consider appropriate legal recourse in similar situations. The session concluded with an engaging Question & Answer segment, providing participants an opportunity to clarify their doubts, followed by a vote of thanks to acknowledge the speaker’s contribution.
