Behavioral Skills Essential for HR Professionals

TIMSR organized a guest session on “Behavioral Skills Essential for HR Professionals,” for the students of MMS HR Semester-II Batch (2024-26) students on April 2, 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Harini Srinivasan, Partner at Semcostyle Institute India LLP.

The session focused on the crucial behavioural skills required for HR professionals in today’s dynamic and agile work environment. Ms. Harini shared valuable insights on a variety of topics, including HR policies, the evolving role of HR, effective communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict management, among others.

A key highlight of the session was an engaging role-play on Transactional Analysis, which helped students understand the significance of HR communication within organizations. Additionally, Ms. Harini introduced students to DISC Profiling, a psychometric tool that enhances the understanding of people’s behaviour, fostering better interpersonal relationships in the workplace.

Overall, the session was highly informative and enriching. It concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Pooja Thorat, Associate Professor and Head – HR Department.
