National Seminar on the topic ‘Green Finance and Sustainability’

TIMSR organized a National Seminar on the topic ‘Green Finance and Sustainability’ on March 25, 2023. The seminar was sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) & University of Mumbai. The objective of the Seminar was to provide a platform to deliver various sustainable development goals (SDG’s) and ways to achieve business sustainability. The Seminar was inaugurated with the lamp lighting ceremony by eminent Chief Guest HE. Erik af Hallstrom, Counsul General, Finland; Guest of Honor – Mr. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Chief Executive, Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai; Dr. Pankaj Natu, Director -TIMSR; Dr. Ramakumar Ambatipudi, CTO-TEG and Dr. Rekha Singh, Dy. Director – TIMSR.

HE. Erik af Hallstrom, the Chief Guest, enlightened the audience with various initiatives to usher in a movement for sustainable living. Mr. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, the Guest of Honor shared his valuable insights on area of Green Finances for Climate action, as part of a public policy initiative, national and sub-national levels to balance environmental sustainability.

Dr. Ajay Prabhakar, UN-SDG Consultant, Former UN Officer highlighted on role and activities of United Nations in creation of a sustainable future. Ms. Utkarsha Rajepandhare, Impact and ESG Consulting, Social Research provided her valuable insights on the future of Green Finance and its potential to transform the economy towards a more sustainable future. Further, Mr.Vendant Atul Ahluwalia, Managing Director, Dataviv Technologies focused his deliberation on the role of technology in achieving sustainability.

The seminar rounded up with Question & Answers round which provided an opportunity to the audience to connect with the speakers. The seminar was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Shebazbano Khan, Assistant Professor (Finance), TIMSR.
