Yoga Awareness Quiz
TIMSR Student Council and TIMSR SRC “Samvedana’ Cell organized Yoga Awareness Campaign as directed by AICTE in line with upcoming International Yoga Day to be celebrated on June 21, 2025. As part of the awareness campaign, a quiz was organized for the students of MMS Sem-III (2023-2025) & MMS Sem-II (2024-2026) on May 16, 2025. A Quiz focused on Origin of Yoga, Asanas, Breathing Techniques and its benefits and positive impact on personal and professional life of an individual was conducted. Students enthusiastically participated in the quiz which helped them, understand their knowledge on the subject matter of Yoga.

Yoga Awareness Campaign
TIMSR Student Council and TIMSR SRC “Samvedana’ Cell organized Yoga Awareness Campaign as directed by AICTE in line with upcoming International Yoga Day celebrated on 21st June 2025. The awareness campaign was organized for the students of MMS Sem-III (2023-2025), MMS Sem-II (2024-2026) on 29th April 2025. A documentary focused on Origin of Yoga, Asanas, Breathing Techniques and its benefits and positive impact on personal and professional life of an individual was screened, during the event. Through the session the students were able to understand the importance of Yoga and how it positively impacts not only physical but also mental well-being of the individual. The documentary highlighted the significance of Yoga, Asanas, Pranayama for overall well-being of Individuals.
Live Project of 30 Hours in Collaboration with Inseed NGO
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell collaborated with Inseed NGO for a Live Project of 30 Hours for the Semester -II students (Batch 2024–26) from 24th February 2025 to 6th March 2025. This initiative aimed to provide students with practical exposure to community service while integrating classroom learning with real-world challenges. The live project was designed to instill values of empathy, social responsibility, and experiential learning by engaging students in diverse volunteering activities that directly impacted underprivileged communities.
Over the course of 30 hours, students participated in a variety of meaningful initiatives such as cleanliness drives, school workshops, community surveys, and interactive educational sessions. Activities included teaching English and Mathematics to school children, conducting sessions on personal finance, time management, and personality development, and promoting eco-friendly habits such as waste segregation and sustainable living. Additionally, students organized creative programs like drawing competitions and cultural events, helping children express themselves while building their confidence and social skills.
This 30-hour live project not only enhanced the academic, social, and personal development of community members but also offered students a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. The collaboration successfully bridged academic learning and societal engagement, aligning with TIMSR’s mission of nurturing responsible and socially aware future professionals.
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell organized a visit to Omega Foundation – Old Age Home in Virar on 12th February 2025. Prior to the visit, a donation drive was conducted, during which students, faculty and non-teaching staff enthusiastically contributed groceries such as rice, oil, dal, wheat flour, and other essentials. These items were taken to the old age home as a gesture of support and care for the elderly residents.
During our visit, seventeen students had an engaging and meaningful interaction with the senior citizens, listening to their stories and sharing moments of joy and companionship. The warmth and smiles exchanged during these conversations created a profound sense of belonging and mutual respect. The experience was profoundly enriching, fostering empathy and a sense of social responsibility among the students. It reminded everyone of the importance of valuing and respecting the elderly, who hold a wealth of wisdom and life experiences. The visit not only provided comfort and happiness to the elderly but also left an indelible impact on everyone involved, underscoring the importance of community support and human connection.This initiative highlighted the significance of small acts of kindness in making a big difference in the lives of others.World Meditation Day TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell organized an enriching celebration of World Meditation Day for the students of MMS Semester I (2024-26) and staff members on 21st December 2024. Mr. Subroto Kamokar, Mr. Suresh Singh and Ms. Jigna Thakkar were the resource persons for the sessions. The event aimed to promote mindfulness, reduce stress, and foster a sense of well-being among participants. The event began with an introduction to the importance of meditation in enhancing mental and physical health, followed by a guided meditation session conducted by an experienced practitioner.Further, participants were encouraged to embrace meditation as a tool for improving focus, emotional balance, and overall productivity. The session also highlighted the significance of self-care in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with their inner selves.
The initiative reflects TIMSR’s commitment to holistic development by integrating wellness practices into its academic and professional environment. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the organizing team and participants, leaving everyone inspired to incorporate meditation into their daily lives.
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell celebrated Constitution Day with great enthusiasm on November 26, 2024. The event commenced with a brief introduction to the historical significance of the day, emphasizing its role in upholding the values of democracy, justice, liberty, and equality enshrined in the Constitution.
Students, faculty, and staff gathered in the classroom and auditorium for the pledge-taking ceremony, where the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was recited. The pledge highlighted the commitment to safeguarding the nation’s integrity, promoting fraternity, and ensuring justice for all citizens. Participants reflected on their role in upholding constitutional values in their personal and professional lives.
The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem, fostering a sense of patriotism and unity among all participants. It served as a powerful reminder of our responsibilities as citizens and inspired everyone to contribute positively to the nation’s growth.
Women Empowerment
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell conducted a Role Play activity on “Women Empowerment” on 21st October 2024. The activity featured students enacting real-life scenarios highlighting the struggles, achievements, and rights of women in different sectors of society. The role play emphasized the importance of women’s education, economic independence, and equal opportunities.
The activity effectively showcased the need for collective action to break societal stereotypes and barriers. Students engaged enthusiastically, portraying how women overcome challenges in their professional and personal lives. The activity concluded with an open discussion, where participants shared insights on supporting women’s empowerment initiatives. This impactful session left students motivated to contribute towards fostering gender equality in their communities.
“MERA – Research”
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell undertook a one-week internship on “MERA – Research” in collaboration with Kotak Education Foundation. Four students volunteered for the internship from 25th September to 1st October 2024. It provided students with a unique opportunity to apply their data extraction and organizational skills to support underprivileged schools. The students’ task involved gathering data from various websites and portals and compiling it systematically in an Excel format, focusing on schools in need of assistance.
Through this internship, students gained invaluable insights into the challenges faced by under-resourced educational institutions, enhancing their understanding of social responsibility. The experience not only strengthened their research skills but also instilled a sense of empathy and commitment to social change. In recognition of their efforts, all participating students were awarded certificates from Kotak Education Foundation, underscoring their contribution to a meaningful cause and boosting their professional portfolios. This initiative reflects the institute’s dedication to fostering student growth through socially responsible engagements.
Plantation Drive
SRC -Samvedna cell of Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research conducted a ‘Plantation Drive’ titled “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam/Plant 4 Mother” an initiative by The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and Honorable Prime Minister on 17th September 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Damu Nagar, Kandivali East.
The Plantation drive aimed at giving tribute to one’s mother by planting trees which symbolised helping environmental conservation and well-being of Mother Earth.
A total of Five volunteers (MMS semester III – Batch 2023-2025) participated in the event. All participants were highly enthusiastic during the activity and seemed ready to make a big difference with their little efforts.
Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna Cell and Electoral Club organised a Campaign on “Har Ghar Tiranga” for MMS Semester III (Batch 2023-25) on 13th August, 2024. It aimed at fostering a sense of patriotism and national pride among students. The event was organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations and saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty.
The primary objective of the campaign was to promote unity and national identity by encouraging the widespread display of the national flag across homes. Students actively took part in a pledge ceremony, affirming their commitment to upholding the values of freedom and unity that the flag represents. Following the pledge, a rally was organized, with students proudly carrying the Tricolor in their hands, symbolizing their dedication to the nation. The initiative allowed students to connect with the larger national movement, contributing to a shared sense of pride and patriotism.
The event successfully instilled a deep sense of national pride among participants, uniting them in their love for the country and reinforcing the importance of collective identity in building a stronger and more cohesive nation.
Blood Donation Camp
A Blood Donation Camp was organized by TIMSR –‘Samvedna’ SRC cell in collaboration with Indian Medical Association Mumbai West Branch. A total of 49 students (MMS Sem III – 2023-2025) and 21 staff members registered for the campaign and promoted the initiative to create awareness about blood donation and its importance on August 14, 2024. As a token of appreciation & gratitude, donors were awarded with certificates, donors’ cards, document folder, along with refreshments. A large number of students and staff participated in the camp, making it a success. All the participants were highly enthusiastic during the activity and seemed eager to make a big difference with their efforts.”
Reel making Competition
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell organized an Intercollegiate Reel making Competition on the theme Social Responsibility in the era of Viksit Bharat on 13th August 2024 drawing participation from students across various colleges. The event aimed to inspire young minds to creatively address critical social issues through impactful and engaging reels.
During the competition, participants explored various aspects of social responsibility, reflecting on India’s progress and the role of youth in shaping a developed nation. The reels highlighted issues such as sustainable development, inclusive growth, and civic engagement, resonating with the theme of Viksit Bharat.
Later, the reels were evaluated based on creativity, thematic relevance, and social impact. Additionally, the event offered valuable networking opportunities, allowing students to connect with peers from other institutions, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas on “How to contribute to India’s development”.
Mithi River Clean-up Drive
On the 10th August, 2024, “Beach Please” organized a commendable clean-up drive along the Mithi River, Mahim. For this noble initiative, nine of our dedicated students from MMS Semester III (Batch 2023-25) actively participated in the drive. The primary goal was to address the alarming pollution levels and restore the river’s natural beauty. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and unwavering determination, our students worked tirelessly to remove plastic waste, debris, and other pollutants from the riverbanks.
Their efforts not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also raised awareness about the importance of preserving our natural water bodies. The clean-up drive served as an excellent opportunity for our students to engage in a meaningful social cause, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship. The collective endeavor fostered a sense of teamwork and civic responsibility among the students. Our students’ involvement in the Mithi River clean-up is a testament to their dedication to making a positive impact on the community and the environment.
Session on Human Rights
TIMSR’s SRC-Samvedna cell organized a session on Human Rights for the students of MMS, Semester- III (Batch 2023-2025) on 27th July 2024. A documentary screening focused on human rights in the Indian context was displayed, followed by a quiz on the topic. Through the session the students were able to understand the various aspects of Human Rights and the challenges faced by people from different strata of the society. The documentary highlighted the Human Right related issues and role of National Human Rights Commission of India in resolving the same.
Pada Visit and Cleanliness Drive
TIMSR’s Social Responsibility Cell- Samvedna organized a Pada Visit and Cleanliness Drive was conducted by the students of MMS Sem-II (Batch 2024-26) & BMS Sem- II (Batch 2024-28) in collaboration with Inseed NGO, to promote hygiene, environmental awareness, and responsible waste management among the residents of Pada Village on 24th February 2025. The initiative aimed to foster sustainable living and community welfare while providing students with hands-on learning experiences.
Before the visit, students conducted an awareness campaign on the importance of cleanliness and proper waste disposal. During the drive, students actively cleaned public spaces, removed plastic waste, and educated villagers on waste segregation and sustainable practices.
The drive resulted in improved community cleanliness and increased awareness among residents. It also helped students develop leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility skills. The event underscored the importance of small collective efforts in driving positive change and reinforced our institute’s commitment to holistic student development and community welfare.
Workshop for Underprivileged School Children
TIMSR’s Social Responsibility Cell- Samvedna organized a “Workshop for Underprivileged School Children in collaboration with Inseed NGO”, on 4th March 2025. The workshop was conducted by the students of MMS Sem-II (Batch 2024-26). The initiative aimed to instill a sense of social responsibility and compassion among management students while making a meaningful contribution to the community. The workshop focused on three key areas: basic education, time management, and eco-friendly habits. Through engaging activities, children were introduced to foundational concepts in English, Mathematics, and word-building to strengthen their academic skills. Additionally, students conducted sessions on time management, using interactive methods to teach the importance of planning, prioritization, and effective task handling. The final segment of the workshop focused on building awareness around sustainability. Children learned about eco-friendly habits, waste management, and responsible consumption through discussions and simple demonstrations.
The workshop made a significant impact by enhancing both the academic and life skills of the participating children, while also offering TIMSR students an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting. The event served as a platform for experiential learning and community involvement, aligning with the institute’s vision of developing socially conscious and responsible future professionals.
