Intercultural Competence in Business: Context, Barriers and Solutions
TIMSR organized an insightful Guest Session on “Intercultural Competence in Business: Context, Barriers and Solutions” for the students of MMS Semester-I (Batch 2025–27) on 4th December 2025, conducted by Ms. Divya Dixit, HR Head, Finrex Treasury Advisors. The session highlighted the significance of intercultural competence in modern workplaces, exploring cultural frameworks, communication contexts, common barriers such as stereotypes and assumptions, and practical strategies for fostering cultural sensitivity and inclusion. Ms. Dixit also emphasized the role of non-verbal communication, empathy, and collaborative behaviour in multicultural settings. Through real-life examples, activities, and discussions, she offered students valuable insights on adapting to diverse professional environments, enhancing communication, and strengthening team dynamics. The session was well-received, with students appreciating its practical relevance, interactive format, and applicability to contemporary business challenges.
