Contemporary Labour Law Reforms and the Evolving Role of Labour Courts & Industrial Tribunals
TIMSR’s HR department organized a guest session on “Contemporary Labour Law Reforms and the Evolving Role of Labour Courts & Industrial Tribunals” on 14th March 2026 for the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2025–27). The session was delivered by Abhijit Deherkar, Head of Human Resources (India) at Primetals Technologies.
The objective of the session was to provide students with practical insights into recent labour law reforms and to help them understand the changing role of labour courts and industrial tribunals in the evolving industrial relations framework. The speaker shared valuable perspectives on contemporary labour regulations, dispute resolution mechanisms, and the importance of compliance and fair labour practices in organizations.
During the session, students gained an understanding of how labour law reforms impact employers, employees, and trade unions, as well as the significance of effective industrial relations in maintaining workplace harmony. Real-world examples from industry were discussed to illustrate how legal frameworks operate in practice.
