FEMA - 1999

TIMSR’s Finance Department organized a guest session on “FEMA – 1999” for the students of MMS Sem-IV (Batch 2024–26) on 27th March 2026. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Mahendra Salunke.

The session on the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999 focused on providing students with a foundational understanding of India’s foreign exchange regulatory framework. It covered key concepts such as current and capital account transactions, the role of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the transition from FERA to FEMA. The session also emphasized practical aspects, including compliance requirements, permissible transactions, and the relevance of FEMA in international trade and business operations.

Mr. Mahendra Salunke also discussed recent developments and amendments in FEMA to help students stay updated with current regulatory practices. Practical examples and case discussions were included to enhance understanding of real-world foreign exchange scenarios.
