Independence Day Awareness Initiative in collaboration with INSEED NGO

TIMSR’s Social Responsibility Cell– “Samvedna,” in collaboration with INSEED NGO, conducted an Independence Day Awareness Initiative on 14th August 2026 at Matrubhumi Slum School, Thakur Village, with active participation from MMS Semester–III students (Batch 2025–27).

The initiative aimed to sensitise school students about the significance of Independence Day and responsible citizenship. Students delivered speeches on prominent freedom fighters, highlighting their contributions and sacrifices, followed by an interactive Independence Day Quiz. The activity fostered patriotism, confidence, awareness, and active participation while reinforcing the message that freedom comes with responsibility. It also provided MMS students with a meaningful opportunity to engage with the community and nurture responsible citizenship among young learners.

Nashamukt Janjagruti Abhiyan

TIMSR’s Social Responsibility Cell –– “Samvedna” under Student Council facilitated the participation of BMS Semester-III (Batch 2025–29) and Semester-V (Batch 2024–28) students in the Nashamukt Janjagruti Abhiyan – Mumbai 2026 on 30th July 2026. As per the directives of the University of Mumbai, the Institute organized the live streaming of the inaugural programme and the Mass Oath-Taking Ceremony, enabling students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff to actively participate in this significant awareness initiative.

The programme featured an inspiring address by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, who emphasized the collective responsibility of educational institutions, youth, and society in combating substance abuse and building a drug-free Maharashtra. He encouraged the younger generation to become catalysts for positive change by making informed and responsible life choices. Shri Devendra Fadnavis also administered the Nashamukt (Drug-Free) Oath, which was solemnly taken by all the participants, reaffirming their commitment to leading healthy, responsible, and addiction-free lives.

The awareness programme sensitized participants to the harmful social, physical, and psychological consequences of substance abuse while encouraging them to become ambassadors of the drug-free movement within their families and communities. The enthusiastic participation of students and staff reflected the Institute’s commitment to promoting social responsibility, responsible citizenship, and community well-being. Through this initiative, TIMSR reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing socially conscious management professionals who actively contribute towards building a healthier and drug-free society.
