Business week – Panel Discussion on Challenges and Opportunities in SMEs
TIMSR’s Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (TCEI) organized a Panel Discussion on the topic “Challenges and Opportunities in SMEs” on 13th April 2025, conducted by the students panel of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024–26). The event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the SME sector, highlighting both the persistent challenges and emerging opportunities in the current business landscape.
During the discussion, student panelists shared their research and insights on various aspects of SMEs, including financing issues, technology adoption, regulatory hurdles, and the scope for innovation and growth. Real-world examples and case studies were presented to support their viewpoints.
Overall, the panel discussion created an engaging platform for peer learning, active participation, and critical analysis, encouraging students to think like future entrepreneurs.

Business week – Market Research of SME’s

TIMSR Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation conducted a Market Research Survey on SMEs from 7th April to 11th April 2025, carried out by the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024–26). During this survey, students visited various SMEs and interviewed the owners or managers of the companies. The market research revealed that SMEs across sectors are facing disruption due to rapid digital transformation and shifting consumer expectations. Overall, the research helped students to gain a clear understanding of the current situation, opportunities & challenges of SMEs.

BIZDOM – Quiz Competition 2025

TIMSR’s TCEI cell organized a BIZDOM – Quiz Competition 2025” for the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024-26) on 24th March 2025. The competition was structured into three intense rounds. In the first round, all 80 teams battled it out, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking. The top 25 teams moved on to the second round, where the competition got even tougher. Finally, in the third round, the top 15 teams gave it their all, and the top three teams crowned as the winners. BIZDOM was a great experience for the participants. The success of the event is a testament to TCEI Students’ hard work and the participants’ enthusiasm.

Overall, the competition was very engaging and provided students a great learning experience in a fun way, while also enhancing their entrepreneurial knowledge and critical thinking skills.

How to make a Business Plan

TIMSR’s TCEI cell organized a workshop on Entrepreneurship titled “How to make a Business Plan” for the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024-26) on 1st March 2025. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Siddharth Shah, Founder- Essenzaa Nutrition. Mr. Shah, who is an entrepreneur & expert in Startup-Business, shared his valuable insights and guided students on how to make a Business Plan. The workshop guided students on how to conduct market research, financial planning, and business structuring. It also helped students to develop a comprehensive and compelling business plan. Overall, the workshop provided practical guidance and hands-on experience for the students planning to start their business venture.

Entrepreneurship Lesson Through Movie – “Air” (2023)

TIMSR’s Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (TCEI) organized an event titled “Entrepreneurship Lesson Through Movie – “Air” 2023 (Based Michel Jordan and Nike Air Shoes Partnership & Alliance) for the students of MMS, Semester-II (Batch 2024-26) on 20th February 2025.

The motive of showcasing the movie was to make the students learn to overcome the hardships of life by hard work and perseverance. Movie showcased the story of Nike’s pursuit of Michael Jordan in the mid-1980s, which led to the creation of the iconic Air Jordan line and revolutionized the sports apparel industry.

Overall, the session greatly influenced the attitude of the students towards their entrepreneurial journey.

Entrepreneurial Mela 2025

TIMSR’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell (TCEI) conducted an activity known as ‘Entrepreneurial Mela 2025 from 13th to 14th February 2025. During the event, TIMSR students of MMS, Semester II (Batch 2024-2026) got involved in the marketing activities and had hands-on experience by setting up two stalls at TEG Yuvotsav 2025 Fest for selling Designer & Niche T-shirts and fast food items.

Through this activity, budding entrepreneurs of TIMSR got a platform to showcase their talents and enhance their essential entrepreneurial skills.

Exposure Visit to Pre-Incubation, Incubation, Maker Space by Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, TEG

Under the banner of TEG-Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Students of MMS Semester II (Batch 2024–26) from TIMSR, along with the faculty members participated in the Exposure Visit to the Pre-Incubation, Incubation, and Maker Space organized by DSSE IIT Bombay on 24th January, 2025. During the visit, students explored the various facilities and gained firsthand understanding of the startup support ecosystem. The experience enhanced their knowledge of idea validation, prototyping, funding avenues, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship. They also had the opportunity to interact with incubator mentors, gaining valuable practical insights into early-stage venture development.

Overall, the visit was an enriching and insightful experience that successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and real-world entrepreneurial ecosystems.

B-Game activity

TIMSR’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell (TCEI) organised a B-Game activity for the TCEI Students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024-2026) on 17th January 2025 in TIMSR Gangway. The activity was organized as a team building activity in the form of a gaming module. The students participated in the activity wholeheartedly and learned the skill of team building as well as target achieving with perseverance and togetherness.
Through the event the students learned entrepreneurial skills to become a successful entrepreneur, in future.

Genesis AI Workshop: Tech Prenuer 2:0 – Role of AI in Entrepreneurial Workshop

TIMSR’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell (TCEI) in association with TEG CEI organized a “Genesis AI Workshop: Tech Prenuer 2:0 – Role of AI in Entrepreneurial Workshop” on 16th January, 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Sudhakar Umale, Adjunct Professor, MME, TCET for the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024-2026) followed by the AI workshop with hands on training for implementation of AI.

In the session, participants got an insight about the AI implementation in Entrepreneurship from the expert and real life experience of practical implementation of the same through live workshop session.

The session proved to be enriching and engaging, ending with a formal expression of gratitude.
Mentoring Session by Alumni

TIMSR’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell (TCEI) organized a “Mentoring Session by Alumni” on 29th November 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. Ashwin Roy Choudhary, Mobcast Innovations Pvt Ltd. (Alumni-TIMSR) for the students of MMS Semester-II (Batch 2024-2026).
In the session, participants shared their entrepreneurial ideas and were offered constructive inputs for refinement. They also explored solutions to their startup-related concerns, gaining a deeper understanding of execution strategies, operational insights, and effective decision-making.
The session proved to be enriching and engaging, ending with a formal expression of gratitude.

Entrepreneurship & Leadership

The Thakur Centre of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (TCEI) organized a session on Entrepreneurship and Leadership for the students of MMS program and BMS Program on 7th November 2024 at TCET Auditorium. The Session was very interactive and engaging for the students and threw light on various aspects of Entrepreneurship. Intrapreneurship and Leadership. The Guest Speakers, Mr. Neeraj Kapoor & Dr. Rajeev Puri shared deep insights on entrepreneurship and processes like Goal Settings, Vision, Skill Set required for being a successful entrepreneur and more. The session was knowledge-packed as the speakers shared their valuable insights based on their rich experience.

World Entrepreneurship Day

Thakur Institute of Management Studies & Research (TIMSR) under the banner of Thakur Education Group (TEG), co-partnered with TCET, TSAP, TGBS & TIMSCDR organised and celebrated ‘World Entrepreneurship Day’ on 21st August, 2024 wherein the TCEI Cell (TIMSR Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation) students of MMS, Semester-II (Batch 2023-2025) participated in the event.

Initiative was taken to invite and felicitate Alum entrepreneurs of all the Institutes. The Alums also shared their journey with the audience. The guest for the event Mr. Nilesh Lele, President at Chamber for Advancement of Small & Medium Businesses discussed on the topic “Building Blocks of Entrepreneurial Venture”. The speaker spoke about taping and doing due diligence in viewing opportunities. The event concluded with awarding the winners of “Business Venture Vault” organized by the group on 27th July, 2024. Overall, the event was a huge success and has created learning opportunities for future entrepreneurs.

IIC Innovator Summit on IPR, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

TIMSR’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell (TCEI), in association with TEG, organized an Innovator Summit for internal faculty members and external IIC members from colleges across the Western region. The event was held on August 09, 2024, at the TCET Seminar Hall.

The chief resource person for the session was Mr. Umesh Rathod, IIC WRO Zonal Coordinator. Other distinguished dignitaries included Mr. Mayur Sejpal, Managing Partner at S.M. Mehta Capital Advisors; Mr. Dyneshwar Kamble, Business Cluster – Gen AI Governance and IP Lead at Tata Consultancy Services; and Mr. Nilesh Vohra, Head IT/CTO, Enterprise Leader & Consulting Partner (CIO Advisory & Transformation) at Infollion Research Services.

The session featured interactive discussions and presentations led by the Chief Coordinator and the guest speakers. This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Umesh Rathod.

The session was highly insightful and well-received by all participants, both internal and external. It concluded with a formal vote of thanks.

A post-event open forum provided an opportunity for one-on-one interactions between the guests and the audience, fostering further engagement and dialogue. The event officially ended with a final vote of thanks.

Business Plan Competition- Business Venture Vault

Thakur Institute of Management Studies & Research (TIMSR) under the banner of TEG- Thakur Education Group, co-partnered with TCET, TSAP, TGBS& TIMSCDR organised a National level Business Plan Competition- Business Venture Vault, for young entrepreneurs, wherein the students of MMS, Semester-II (Batch 2023-2025) participated along with their groups.

The competition was organised in 2 Levels.

Round 1- Screening – 18th July 2024 – Online Mode
Round 2- Studio – 26th July 2024- Offline Mode

For Round 1, we received registration from 43 teams across India and their Business Ideas were presented on 18th July 2024. Evaluation and screening were done based on: Uniqueness Innovativeness and Feasibility, by Alumni in online mode.

The Alumni were-

4. Mr. Mehboob Patel – TIMSCDR
5. Mr. Rishabh Jain – TSAP

Out of 43 teams, 16 teams were shortlisted for Round 2 – Studio Round.

On 26th July, 2024, the selected teams for Round 2 presented their ideas before the Jury members within the TEG Campus. The evaluation was done on the basis of Problem statement • Solution to the problem • Market Analysis and Strategies • Cost and Benefit Analysis • Scalability and Growth Potential.

The Jury Members for the Round 2- Studio Round, were

3) Ms. Neeta Jajoo – Co-Founder at Expressions Desiger Interior Design Studio-Online Interior Products Store

Three winning teams of the Business Venture Vault were invited to the Campus on 21st August 2024 and were given the prize money.

The winners were

1st prize – TSAP Team “Van Cart”- Rs.25,000
2nd prize – Vidyalankar Team “ Saaj Handicraft”- Rs.15,000
3rd prize – D.J. Sanghvi Team “Make Plast”- Rs.7500.

The event was successfully conducted and student’s ideas were well appreciated by the Jury Members.
